This summer, Museum of the Rockies is set to celebrate the 19th anniversary of its highly-acclaimed Wine and Culinary Classic benefit event. Four hundred patrons will converge at this once-a-year opportunity to SIP specially chosen wines from around the world, SAVOR the finest flavors of Bozeman, and SUPPORT Museum of the Rockies, Montana’s premier institution.

This casual-elegant event is one of the largest benefit event gatherings in Montana. It has earned a reputation for attracting everyone from the most discerning aficionados to those who relish the opportunity to appreciate savory bites and learn about fine wine.

Each event is unique, and those who have attended for years look forward to a fresh experience and the discovery of new flavors and aromas. With this year’s theme, Take Me to the River, guests will sample light, aromatic whites of the Moselle River, bold reds born in the Columbia River Valley, delicious varietal blends from the Rhone River Valley, and many more pairings of world-renowned waterways and remarkable wines. 

Wines and rivers share a magic synergy, changing as they flow from season to season, vintage to vintage. There’s an inseparable bond between fine wines and the rivers that nourish them. Rivers protect wineries from weather extremes, replenish soils, and offer grape vines life-sustaining moisture.

Adding excitement to this incomparable event is the online silent auction where everyone can support the museum, you do not have to purchase a ticket to participate. During the live auctions, guests will enjoy the lively competition for one-of-a-kind and once-in-a-lifetime offerings. As the event draws closer, the full array of auction items will be unveiled, from which everyone will find something too good to pass up.

Attendees will also get a chance to support the museum’s Changing Exhibits Fund by raising their hands in the Pay It Forward Auction.


The annual Wine and Culinary Classic is more than an enchanting evening spent in a richly beautiful and stylish setting. It is also a vital source of funding for the world-class museum that calls our community home. As an essential supplement to memberships, contributions, admission fees, and store revenue, the event raises an impressive percentage of funds vital to sustaining MOR’s phenomenal traveling exhibits, permanent displays rich in regional history, unparalleled dinosaur complex, planetarium features, and countless community and educational offerings.

It is the mission of Museum of the Rockies to bring the world to Montana and share Montana with the world. Through the generosity of local supporters and patrons from across the country, one delightful July evening filled with mouth-watering morsels, ambrosial sips, and enthusiastic bidding makes that possible.
