How can investigating a Roman villa help us understand the Roman people and their culture? Pompeii and the nearby villas at Oplontis offer a glimpse into the daily life of Romans as well as Rome’s elite. Through archaeology, we can explore the material remains of Roman culture in the first century learning about the environment, art, and lifeways.

The lessons cover several disciplines, including geology, art history, archaeology, Latin, English Language Arts, and Social Studies.
