ARCHAEOLOGY CAMP:
Campers will explore the science of archaeology and learn about past human civilizations. The first days of camp will focus on learning the techniques and language of archaeology. As the week continues campers will have the chance to participate in a mock archaeological dig and learn how to grid and properly dig an archaeological site.
DINOSAUR CAMP:
Dinosaur detectives, spend a week digging around to learn about dinosaurs and their place in history. Visit the Hall of Horns and Teeth, the Mesozoic Media Center, and the new Hall of Giants. Learn about the process of paleontology and excavate dinosaur bones. The Dinosaur Chronicles planetarium show is part of the fun.
GLOW CAMP:
Dive into the science of bioluminescence and experience the Museum’s newest traveling exhibit, Glow: Living Lights. This camp will introduce campers to the science of mid-ocean creatures that use chemicals to light up their bodies. Tour the exhibit, see glowing scorpions, and discover the underwater world of living lights.
SPACE CAMP:
Have an out-of-this world adventure! Campers explore the vastness of space including rockets, planets, and extraterrestrial life. Learn how astronauts live and what Mars is like. Space camp will include special visits to the planetarium and many more exciting NASA activities.
ASTRONOMY CAMPOUT:
Spend the evening learning about astronomy. Examine the current night sky in the planetarium to get ready for the real thing as campers stargaze the night away. A pizza supper and sleepover in the Museum’s 30-foot tipi are part of this fun camp. Campers need to bring sleeping bags, pillows, and pads.
