SATURDAY WORKSHOPS FOR ADULTS
Experience MOR exhibits in a new way. In an effort to reach out to adults who are interested in continuing education, the Museum is offering Saturday workshops. These workshops are interactive and full of hands on experiences and great for educators who what to enhance their own classroom experiences. Space is limited and pre-registration is suggested. WATERCOLOR PAINTING WITH PAT BRANTING
Integrating history and art is a great way to experience Montana’s colorful past. Join Pat Branting in this two-part series as you learn the basics of watercolor with an emphasis on MORs Enduring Peoples exhibit. If you are looking artistic ways to integrate Indian Education for All into your classroom, these classes will provide new ways to introduce Montana Indians into your curriculum. You will learn to set up watercolor journal pages in a graphically pleasing design, do simple water color sketches of Native American items from the exhibit and then enhance the watercolor sketch with pen and ink. All materials are included in the cost. This class is open to teachers and the public. Pre-registration is required. Each class size limited to 10 people. OPI renewal credits available for educators.

WHAT IS A FOSSIL?
Are you interested in fossils, how they are formed and where they are found?
This class is designed to help answer these questions. Maury Irvine, long time MOR docent, will give you a hands-on look and detailed discussion of some fossils. You will finish your class with a tour of our world renowned Dinosaurs Under the Big Sky exhibit featuring Dr. Jack Horner's latest research.

PRINT MAKING WITH KERRY CORCANAN
Experience the Museum of the Rockies Goya: Los Caprichos exhibit with a hands on experience. The Goya exhibit features 98 etching prints from his Los Caprichos edition and you will learn how these etching are made. Instructor, Kerry Corcanan, will guide you through the printmaking intaglio process of drypoint. This will enable you to create your own etching plate, based on the imagery and visual response of the Goya exhibit. Then you will take your plate to the MSU art department. Then you will take your plate to the MSU art department and you will finalize your project with the printing press. All materials are included in the cost. Class size limited to 15 students.

USES AND ACTIONS OF HERBAL MEDICINE
Herbalist Kris Hill will be sharing with you the uses and actions of herbal medicine. Which plants you can grow, what weeds are beneficial and native plants of Montana that will increase the healing properties of your personal apothecary. How to use the plants, storing and collecting techniques will be discussed as well. If the weather permits we will take an interpretive plant stroll around the museum grounds and the Tinsley house.

MASTER GARDENING FOR THE GALLATIN VALEY
This eight-week course (16 hours) will be taught by the local Extension agent Toby Day. During the beginning of the Level 1 Master Gardener course you will receive the Montana Master Gardener Handbook and other informative handouts pertaining to the class. In the Level 1 Master Gardener course you will learn:
* Introduction to Montana State University Extension and the Master Gardener Program
* Soils and fertility (N-P-K-Fe)
* Plant growth and development Part 1
* Growing food from your yard and garden
* Flowers
* Trees, shrubs, vines and pruning
* Lawns and irrigation
* Yard and garden maintenance/composting
* Intro to integrated pest management (IPM)
