The Surface layer is the intersection for all the Greater Yellowstone geoecosystem science, stories, and discoveries, and the stratum where all the ecosystem's layers interact and touch the human world. This portion of the exhibit protrays features that we know and see when we visit, and that serve as portals to environments, forces, or phenomena that are "hidden" from view.
