Biography
I fell in love with dinosaurs at the age of five and decided I wanted to be a paleontologist when I was eight.  However, when I was in tenth grade, I had the most amazing English teacher who encouraged me to pursue literature and writing in college. I still loved dinosaurs, but everyone convinced me girls didn't study science, except to become nurses.  After earning my degree in English Lit, I found it almost impossible to find relavant employment...all the jobs were going to business majors.  I went back to school and earned a B.S. in Accounting.

I married a research physicist in 1972, had a daughter in 1976, and finally found gainful employment as an assistant financial officer at a private school in Maryland.  I worked there until mid-1995, all the while reading everything I could find on dinosaurs.  At that time, my husband, a third generation Montanan, retired from his research position with Johns Hopkins University and we moved to Bozeman, MT.

I came to work at the MoR in March 1998, first as a volunteer fossil preparator, then later, as a paid staffer in the Paleo Dept.  I took a round-about route, but finally, I had gotten to work with my beloved dinosaurs.  Better late, than never!

Besides dinosaurs, I also like to ski and hike.  I am an avid knitter and needle-worker. I enjoy cooking, especially ethnic cuisine.  I am also, slowly, writing "the great American novel" when not devouring books and novels on just about every subject, but especially history, geology, biology, and anything with a medieval theme.
