Paleohistology

What is Paleohistology?

Paleohistology is the study of the microscopic structure of fossil specimens. Thin-section slides are used to study fossilized bone, ossified tendon, eggshell, teeth and coprolites (fossilized feces). Photo shows the microscopic structure inside a Maiasaura nestling femur.
